Support the Bill

  • Talk to your local House and Senate members. Tell them how important passing a Massage Therapy law is to your business and your clients. To find your local legislators, go to the state's website LINKED HERE and type in your address. It will bring up their web pages, which will have their phone and email contact info.

  • Sign up for your MN House member's email updates.  You will also get announcements of dates and time your Legislator will be in your community to hear from constituents about the issues that are important to you.  Simply go to their webpage (find it HERE using your home address), and find the "sign up for my updates" link on their

  • Help Recruit Supporters. Other ways to help include letting not just other Massage Therapists know about this effort and directing them to this website, but also friends, family, neighbors, clients know about the effort.

  • Be willing to call your Legislators. Making a simple phone call to tell your elected representatives what you want them to do is so simple and powerful.

  • City Ordinance (Up to 3 hours per month) Callers are needed for the City Ordinance Project to help us catalog the city massage "license" laws all over the state. These phone calls can easily be made from home or office, and we will even give you a form with the questions to ask so we are getting consistent information. We have already seen great successes with this project, bringing legislators to our side when they hear how restrictive and cost-prohibitive, not to mention demeaning, some of these ordinances are.   • Hearing Support (Up To 2 hours per hearing) When our bill is going to be heard in a legislative committee hearing, some and sit in the gallery, and be a supportive "nod and smile" when things are said in favor of our bill. You don't have to testify, just come and show your support. You will be notified by e-mail when hearings are held.
