City Ordinance Project
Our City Ordinance Project is continuing to be resounding success! We will soon be adding in a section on this page with some of the data for the cities we have contacted through this project for the convenience of our supporters. Check back soon and join us and help the effort!
The Basics: The ALMT City Ordinance Project is an exciting and simple way for folks who support the effort but don't have a lot of time because of running a practice and everything else in their lives, to make a great difference in the effort for a Massage Therapy credential. It will allow us to make our strongest case when our bill makes into the Committees that will hear it.
This project has already been a success. In meeting with legislators, our Alliance chair and the Alliance's Lobbyist had legislator's come on board with the effort when the lawmaker was told about the restrictive regulations in place. And with more data coming, our case gets stronger still. We will be posting a page here soon with the data from this project. There are still plenty of cities to call so drop us an email and lend a hand!
What would I do if I volunteer to Help? We have a form that has all the questions to ask the city clerk, with an easy online form into which you can enter the data you collect. We have a great Project chair in place who will assign a block of 5-6 cities at a time to volunteers and who will enter the information we get into our database. No meetings are required. The phone calls can be made from your home or office and will likely take approximately 5-10 minutes a piece for cities with active ordinances in place. The only hitch is most City Clerks office hours are in the Mon-Fri, 9-4 range. If this is something you would like to try, all we need is to know that you are interested in helping. To let us know you want to help, do one of the following.
You can make a tremendous difference in the effort to pass a reasonable License Law in MN with just a few minutes of your time. Thanks for all you are already doing on behalf of our profession!
